The City of Brush! is hiring for the following Wastewater treatment positions:


Entry Level Operator (No License)

Qualifications: Must be willing to obtain licensing.

Strength in areas such as math, biology, and mechanics very helpful.

This position serves on a team of other operators who perform a variety of duties to facilitate the flow and treatment of wastewater and skilled & semi-skilled work for the general operation, maintenance and repair of the treatment facilities. Some of the duties include: performing daily rounds, collecting & analyzing samples, performing process control changes and maintenance on wastewater system. Examples of duties: assisting in the operation, maintenance and repair of pumps, motors, control panels, all instrumentation flow meters, sensors, UV system, blowers/compressors, ventilation systems, buildings and control structures; hauling biosolids for field application; maintaining grounds, mowing compound, washing equipment, painting buildings, etc.; checking clarifiers, aeration basins and digester; and record keeping.

Wastewater Operator C License

Qualifications: Class C WWTP Operator License and experience with activated sludge required, biological nutrient removal experience and collection/distribution licenses preferred.

Duties are similar to that of the entry level operator but with greater responsibility and need for advanced knowledge accomplished with licensing.

Wastewater Foreman

Qualifications: Colorado Class B license or higher, Colorado Class II Collection system license plus four years of experience as a treatment plant operator required.

Must be familiar with concepts and have experience in biological nutrient removal processes. Must be familiar with the industrial pretreatment program. Previous supervisory experience and Class III Collection licensing preferred.

The Wastewater Foreman's duties include, but are not limited to: planning, scheduling and directing staff at the WWTP; responsible for overall process control of facility; preparing all periodic reports and submitting as required by governmental agencies; observing, detecting and reacting to impending process problems; other duties as assigned.

Building Inspector I or II


Essential functions of the position are: interpreting building, planning, zoning, and compliance codes; performing building inspections; issuing building permits; providing zoning, subdivision, and annexation information to the public; administering the flood plain; managing the Tree Board; providing staff support for the planning commission and board of adjustment; and providing excellent customer service for the Building Dept.

Qualifications: ICC/ICBO certification in building inspection required within one year of hire; a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in customer service with direct public contact required; additional ICC/ICBO certification a plus; training in the National Flood Plain Insurance Program a plus; and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a building inspector preferred. $41,000-$59,000 with excellent benefits!

Mechanic


The City of Brush, EOE, is now hiring for the position of Mechanic. The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing all City fleet vehicles and equipment with special regard to manufacturer specifications, safety, mechanical performance and efficiency; inspecting vehicles and equipment per appropriate safety standards and DOT requirements and maintaining appropriate records. Class B CDL w/ tanker endorsement required but the City will provide the resources to obtain, ASE certification related to auto and truck maintenance or diesel mechanics preferred, combination of education and/or experience demonstrating the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered. $15.74/hr to start with excellent and competitive benefits.

Golf Course Groundskeeper


The Groundskeeper is the lead maintenance position and will supervise seasonal grounds maintenance staff.

Some of the duties include: operating powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, string trimmers, chain saws, electric clippers and sod cutters; responsible for the safe operation of equipment; instructs staff in safety rules and ensures safe practices; ensures all turf is maintained properly including (but not limited to) chemical application, mowing, trimming, edging, sod installation and irrigation; edges, rakes and maintains sand bunkers; mixes and sprays fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides onto grass, shrubs and trees; sprays and trims or pulls weeds on entire grounds; prunes or trims trees, shrubs and hedges; gathers and removes all litter on the grounds; responsible for operating, repairing, maintaining and installing irrigation system; winterizes irrigation system in the fall and re-charges system in the spring; rakes and removes leaves; maintains and repairs tools and equipment; identifies and repairs any area that could present a safety or health hazard to course users; supervises and directs seasonal staff; assists contractors when needed.


Qualifications: High school education or equivalent required. Three years of experience operating and repairing irrigation systems and maintaining golf course turf preferred. Prior experience supervising staff preferred. Familiarity or knowledge of golf preferred.
