Youth Baseball & Softball
The City of Brush Recreation Department is gearing up for another exciting year in Boys Baseball. Both programs, recreation and travel, will offer competitive opportunities. The competitive travel season for these programs will be held in June and July as in the past. Below is a listing of age divisions, important dates and fees associated with each program. With all programs the child's age is as of April 30th.
Co Ed T-Ball - This program is designed for children ages 4–6 just beginning to learn the concepts of baseball. Kids will practice 1 to 2 times per week and play approximately 6 games. Program to begin in late April.
Co Ed Farm – This program is designed for children ages 7–8. This program utilizes a pitching machine and basic concepts are still stressed and strategies are introduced. Kids will practice 1 to 2 times per week and play approximately 12 games including a couple teams from the surrounding area. The program to begin in late April.
Minor Baseball Boys – This program is designed for children ages 9–10 (8yr olds may play with approval through the Rec. Dept). This program allows children to hit off of live pitching for the first time. More advanced baseball techniques are stressed. Program to begin in early April. Assessments will be held for this league and a draft will determine teams. Each team will practice at least 2 days a week and play approximately 12-15 games including some against neighboring towns.
Major Baseball Boys – This program is designed for children ages 11–12 (10 yr olds may be drafted in to majors if parents allow). This program teaches advanced techniques and strategies of baseball. Program to begin in early April. Assessments will be held for this league and a draft will determine teams. Each team will practice at least 2 days a week and play approximately 12-15 games including additional games against neighboring towns.

American Legion Baseball - American Legion is a program for kids ages 13-17. There will be 20-25 games per season. Although there are no cuts, playing time is not guaranteed. The coach will make the decision on where each child plays and what will benefit the team the most. Practices will begin towards the end of May. PLEASE NOTE: No child can practice until payment is made unless arrangements or a payment plan are made.
Girls Fast Pitch - This program will be run much like our youth baseball program. There will be two leagues, a 12 & Under and 10 & Under, with practice starting in late March with games in April where parent volunteer coaches will coach multiple local teams who will compete against each other for approximately 10 games before a travel team will be decided upon and girls will have the option to continue play for an additional fee.
Fee: $50 Fee
Girls Fast Pitch Softball - This program is geared for those who want to participate in a higher level, competitive program. There will be a couple of tournaments and games with teams from around the surrounding area. Practice will begin in late April. 18 & under, 14 & under.
This program is for children ages 4-13. Basic fundamentals and team concepts are stressed to children in a fun environment. Games are held on Saturday mornings at Brush High School. Volunteer coaches and referees are needed for this program. The season will begin around mid-August and run through September. Call if interested in coaching ot officiating
This program is an excellent starter program for children. Children in grades 1st - 6th may participate. The program will begin at the end of September and run until November. Check with Brush Recreation in the fall for more information on location and start times.
Youth Flag Football
This program is for children in grades 1st - 6th. Basic football fundamentals will be stressed in a safe manner. Teams will practice 1 to 2 times per week and will play games on Saturdays at Brush Middle School. Will begin in Late September.
This recreation program provides a basketball clinic each week of the season for 3rd - 6th grades. Registration begins in October, with clinics starting in November.
Grades 4th-6th recreation and travel ball will include tournaments and extended play after the recreation clinic.
Adult Softball League
Begins on May 18th. Men's teams play on Mondays & Wednesdays, ladies teams play on Thursdays. For more information, contact Recreation Department.
Fee: $450 men's team, $400 ladies team
Junior Golf Program
Junior Golf lessons will be held at The Course at Pettey Park golf course this summer. Clubs can be provided for those without. Class size is limited, so sign up early. Classes include basic instruction, etiquette and rules.
