Request for Bids - Edison Street Water Line Replacement

Sealed bids for the Edison Street Water Line Replacement will be received by the OWNER, City of Brush! located at 600 Edison Street Brush, Colorado 80723 until 2:00 PM (before 2:01 PM), local time, March 2, 2020, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the same location.

The Contract Documents consisting of a Project Manual and Drawings may be obtained by electronic documents on-line on and after 2:00 P.M., Wednesday January 29, 2020. The successful BIDDER will be required to furnish Payment and Performance Bonds and comply with the insurance provision as specified by the Contract Documents.  A 5% Bid Bond will be required.

Work to be performed generally includes: open cut installation of 1186 LF of 10” DR 18 PVC water line and fittings; installation of 186 LF of 6” DR 18 PVC water line and fittings; three (3) 10” MJ gate valves; four (4) 6” MJ gate valves; nine (9) tie-ins to existing 4”, 6”, and 10” water mains; nine (9) service line replacements; full-depth asphalt patching; traffic control; and disinfection, testing, and transition to water line. Included is all site work, construction surveying, installation, and incidental work required to complete the Work as specified on the Drawings.

Qualifications to the Bidder should include: experience in water pipeline construction, ability to obtain necessary permits for construction, ability to post performance and payment bonds, and ability to deliver the work in conformance with specifications within the contract time.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting is set for 10:00 AM, February 20, 2020 at 600 Edison Street Brush, CO 80723.

Prospective Bidders may visit the site between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on weekdays. The water foreman, Don Marymee, may be reached at 970-842-5001 24 hours in advance; however, technical questions must be directed to the Engineer, JDS-Hydro Consultants, at (719) 227-0072 (John McGinn, PE).

Basis of award will be the lowest responsive and responsible Bid as determined by the OWNER.  OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any and all informalities and to negotiate contract terms with the successful BIDDER, and the right to disregard all nonconforming, non-responsive or conditional Bids.

 The OWNER reserves the right to waive any irregularities or to waive any technical defects in the bidding process as the best interest of the OWNER may be served.
