Police Officer Employment Opportunity

A Brush Police Officer:  protects the lives, safety, and property of individuals by enforcing ordinances, statutes, and laws; patrols within corporate limits to deter illegal activity and to protect and preserve the safety and security of individuals, property, buildings, and neighborhoods; completes reports in a clear and accurate manner; responds to dispatch calls and investigates citizen complaints and reported breaches of the peace; prepares summons necessary to charge individuals with violations of ordinances and statutes; makes arrests and takes suspects into custody including reading of rights, interrogation, search, booking, and transport of individuals to holding and jailing facilities; appears in court and other hearings to offer testimony; attends and participates in assigned training sessions; inspects and maintains equipment; follows Police Dept policies in addition to the City of Brush Personnel Policies; and performs other duties as assigned.

$45,300 - $65,700 / yr.  Starting Wage:  $45,300/yr. plus excellent benefits and FPPA retirement plan

Must be POST Certified in either Colorado or acceptable out of state equivalent.

Full - Time Evidence Custodian

Primary functions:  Serve as Primary Evidence Custodian for Department, Responsible for Body Worn Camera Evidence, Records Management of Brush Police Dept., Customer Inquiries, Assist with Telephones, Handling Money, Serves as CJIS Operator, and Applies /Oversees Department Grants

Water Planner/Deputy Foreman main responsibility within the City of Brush will be for the Coordination of Water Projects, Water Accounting, Daily Review of SCADA, Management of City Water Portfolio, Review of City Water Usage, Attend Regional Water Meetings, Attend Ditch Meetings, Install Water Service, Install Water Mains.

Water Operators are responsible for the construction, maintenance and repair of the water system which provides service to Brush. Some of the duties include: performs work in the construction, maintenance and repair of lines, hydrants, wells, lift station, booster pump, tanks, control systems and dosing equipment; cuts asphalt, digs trenches, back fills and tamps; installs taps, mains, valves, tees and crosses; locates valves and underground lines; flushes water systems; reads meters; collects samples and assists in keeping records.
