Youth Baseball & SoftballThe City of Brush Recreation Department is gearing up for another exciting year in Boys Baseball. Both programs, recreation and travel, will offer competitive opportunities. The competitive travel season for these programs will be held in June and July. Below is a listing of age divisions, important dates and fees associated with each program.
Co Ed T-Ball - This program is designed for children ages 5–6 just beginning to learn the concepts of baseball. Children that are 4 years old may register with permission from the Brush Rec Dept. Games will be on Friday nights and/or Saturday mornings. There will be approximately 6 games. Register by March 23rd, games will begin April 17th.
Co Ed Farm – This program is designed for children ages 7–8. Children will hit from a pitching machine and begin to focus more on fundamentals and the strategies of baseball. Games will be played on Friday nights and/or Saturday mornings. Children that are 6 years old and request to play up may with permission from the Brush Rec Dept. There will be approximately 10 games. Register by March 23rd, games will begin April 17th.
Minor Baseball Boys – This program is designed for children ages 9–10. Children will hit off live pitching. Fundamentals and strategies will be stressed in this division. Games will be played throughout the week but there will be no more than 3 game days in a week. These teams will also play games against teams around the area and some travel may be required. Children that are 8 years old may assess to be drafted with approval through the Rec. Dept. If that child is not drafted into the Minors, they will be placed on a Farm team. Player assessments will be at the Joslin/Needham complex on February 26, 27, 28th at 4pm - players MUST attend one of the assessments to be drafted. There will be approximately 10-14 games. Practice will begin mid March. MUST BE REGISTERED BY FEBRUARY 28th.
Major Baseball Boys – This program is designed for children ages 11-12. Children will hit off live pitching. Fundamentals and strategies will be stressed in this division at a higher level than that of the Minor league. Games will be played throughout the week but there will be no more than 3 game days in a week. These teams will also play games against teams around the area and some travel may be required. Depending on numbers, 10 year olds may be asked to play up to this division. Player assessments will be at the Joslin/Needham complex on February 26, 27, 28th at 4pm - players MUST attend one of the assessments to be drafted. If the child does not get drafted into the Majors, he will be asked to play down in the Minors. There will be approximately 10-14 games. Practice will begin mid March.

American Legion Baseball - American Legion is a program for kids ages 13-17. There will be 20-25 games per season. Although there are no cuts, playing time is not guaranteed. The coach will make the decision on where each child plays and what will benefit the team the most. Practices will begin towards the end of May. PLEASE NOTE: No child can practice until payment is made unless arrangements or a payment plan are made. Registration will be available April 1st.
Girls Fast Pitch - This program will be run much like our youth baseball program. There will be two leagues, a 12 & Under and 10 & Under, with practice starting in late March with games in April where parent volunteer coaches will coach multiple local teams who will compete against each other for approximately 10 games. A travel team will then be decided upon and girls will have the option to continue play for an additional fee. Registration will be available by April 1st.
Fee: $50 Fee
Girls Fast Pitch Softball - This program is geared for those who want to participate in a higher level, competitive program. There will be games with teams from surrounding areas and a couple of tournaments. Practice will begin in late May. Registration will be available by April 1st.
Youth SoccerThis program is for children ages 3-13. Basic fundamentals and team concepts are stressed to children in a fun environment. Games are held on Saturday mornings, location TBD. Volunteer coaches are needed for this program. The season will begin around August 1st. Register by July 19th.
Youth VolleyballThis program is an excellent starter program for children. Children in grades 1st - 6th may participate. The program will begin at the mid September. Check with Brush Recreation in the fall for more information on location and start times. Register by August 30th.
Be An Athlete Football CampBasic skills taught by Beetdigger players and coaching staff. Each participant will receive a t-shirt.
Youth Flag FootballThis program is for children in grades 1st - 6th. Basic football fundamentals will be stressed in a safe manner. Teams will practice 1 to 2 times per week and will play games on Saturdays at Brush Middle School. Season will begin September 14th. Register by August 30th.
Youth BasketballThis program is for children in grades 3rd - 6th. Basic basketball fundamentals will be taught. Practice and games will be determined by court availability. Will begin mid-November for approximately 5 weeks. Travel basketball will begin AFTER the rec season. Travel games will begin at the first of the year for approximately 2 months.
You MUST play rec basketball in order ot play travel basketball.
Registration will be available late October.
Fee: $35/Rec or $100/Rec & Travel
Tiny-Tot Basketball CampThis camp is for boys and girls in grades Kindergarten-2nd. Basic basketball fundamentals will be taught (no games). Camp will be as follows:
Kindergarten: March 2nd, March 5th, March 9th, and March 12th from 6:30pm - 7:30pm @ Beaver Valley Elementary.
1st and 2nd Grade: March 3rd, March 6th, March 10th, and March 13th from 6:30 - 7:30pm @ Beaver Valley Elementary.
TennisThere will be a camp to learn the basics of tennis - learn to play an dscore the game. this is available to kids Kindergarten-8th grade. Camp will be @ Petteys Park on 6/17, 6/19, 6/21, 6/24, 6/26 and 6/28 from 9-10:30am. Register by June 10th.
Adult Softball LeagueMen and Women's Slow-Pitch Softball League: men will play on Wednesday nights (occasional Monday nights, if needed) beginning May 22nd, and Women will play on Thursday nights beginning May 23rd. League tournaments will be July 20th & July 21st. The softball meeting for men's and women's leagues will be May 8th.
Fee: $450 men's team, $400 ladies team
Will play on Wednesday nights beginning in mid-August
Junior Golf ProgramJunior Golf lessons will be held at The Course at Pettey Park golf course this summer. Clubs can be provided for those without. Classes include basic instruction, etiquette and rules. Register early, class size is limited to 10 per age group.
Golf lessons every Thursday in June, starting June 6th.
Ages 8-10 @ 8am
Ages 11-13 @ 9:15am
Ages 14-18 @ 10:30am
Tournament: July 18th

Watrous Park Disc Golf CourseThis 9-basket Disc Golf Course is almost ten years old now, and had benefited from several Arbor Day tree planting activities by the City of Brush! With additional trees planted just last year, this park has really flourished. Restroom facilities have been added and this has become a very fun and challenging disc golf course. There will be several disc golf tournaments, open disc golf opportunities, and league night during the summer. Men and women of all ages and abilities are welcome. Disc Golfers are very nature friendly and helpful people, eager to "Grow the Sport." Come check out the many options!

Divisions include: Men; 30 & Under, 31-60, 61 & over
Women's; Advanced and Novice
Includes t-shirt, snacks, prizes, and plaques for 1st & 2nd place.
Spetember 7th there will be the 9th Annual Brush Disc Golf Doubles Tournament with multiple divisions including Advanced, Beginner, and Co-ed.
League Night: Thursdays beginning in March (TBA) at 5:15pm
Free Disc Golf Lessons with Wayne and Carol Carlson: Every Monday night in May beginning at 5:30pm (men, women, and kids are welcome)
