      2021 Municipal Election for Brush City Council

Here is an opportunity to serve your community on City Council!

City Clerk Loranda Packard will hold an informational candidate meeting on Monday, August 2, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at 600 Edison Street, for those interested in learning more about becoming a City Council candidate.  Feel free to call her at 842-5001 ext. 250, any time if you have questions about the process.

City Council has the following openings:

Mayor elected at large, 4 year term, paid $600 per month.

One Councilor from each of the three wards in the City of Brush, 4 year term, paid $300 per month.

One Councilor from each Ward I and Ward II to complete terms expiring 2024 occupied to date by appointment, paid $300 per month.

Ward I    Running north and south -   west side of Hospital Road to west City limits
Ward II    Running north and south - east side of Hospital Road to west side of Carson Street
Ward III  Running north and south - east side of Carson Street to east City limits

In order to get your name on the November 2, 2021, ballot for Mayor or City Council, nomination petitions must be obtained from the City Clerk, at City Hall, 600 Edison Street, Brush, Colorado, and circulated beginning Tuesday, August 3, 2021, and submitted to the City Clerk by 5 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2021.

Candidates must be 18 years of age, a United States citizen, a registered elector by the date of the election.  The Mayor must have resided within city limits and Councilors must have resided in their specific ward for 12 consecutive months prior to the election.
